In 2009, I was asked to produce the invitation for The Democratic Party of Santa Barbara fundraiser at a time when the party was still celebrating the election of President Obama. Shepard Fairey, whose art and iconic message of HOPE came to represent the 2008 campaign, was the principal source of inspiration. In this piece it was about celebrating our beautiful environment and the people of the Santa Barbara community . I continue to include this in my archive because the message and image...now eight years old...continue to make me feel hopeful. And “After all, hope is a form of planning.”*
